The book has not really described a setting. It is most likely in the United States. It does not have and exact location or time period. I would assume it is supposed to be current day. It takes place in a neighborhood. Which is different from where I live, I don’t live in a neighborhood, I just live on a street.

The main character in this book is Guy Montag. His job as a firemen is to burn all of the books.  His main problem is he starts to question everything because of his neighbor Clarisse. He is insecure, and nervous. He is not much like me, but i can relate to being very nervous.

Every day at Blackhawk Middle School every student in the school gets some sort of lunch for free. The lunches have a wide variety of what students can eat. They also have many good items that you can have on the side. Like Fruits and other stuff to eat. The school also supplies a milk or a juice to drink with your lunch

Even though Blackhawk provides these lunches for free, there is ale’ cart. Which does cost money. But ale ‘cart is not required. The ale’ cart items include stuff like snacks and soda. Most ale’ cart items are around 75 cents. So even though it costs money, it is not very expensive. Which is good for students who may not come from a very wealthy background.

At Blackhawk, there is a variety of lunches. You will not eat the same meal. The school has a wide variety of meals. They have foods such as pizza, spaghetti, salad, nachos, and much more. Along with a bunch of different sides, and even different milk flavors and  Sometimes the food is good sometimes it’s bad. At least they don’t serve slop!

Students have lunch around the time it is expected to be had at. The schools lunch periods are around 12:00 so the students eat around mid-day. So the timing is pretty good. The lunches last around 30 minutes. Which is sometimes not enough time to eat. When students get called last to eat their lunch they often run out of time.

The Cafeteria is located on the right the side of the school. There are rows of tables that students sit at. The students do not get to pick where they sit. They have to sit with the class they are going to after lunch. Students used to have free Fridays to sit where ever they want. Ever since Mr. Harl became the new assistant principal they have yet to return this school year. Many students have asked him and he has said they might return.

After he is done counting down he picks the row of tables (There are 9 rows) that got quiet the fastest to go get their lunch first. The students all rush to get their food. Then after that he continuously calls other rows to go get their food. Then the students teachers come and pick them up at the end of lunch. Then they walk their students back to the classroom and they begin learning.

Blackhawk Middle School students are going to begin wearing uniforms the Tuesday after Labor Day. Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) said eventually  all of the schools are going to get uniforms. Some schools like Kekionga Middle School and others who already have uniforms. We spoke to the principal of Blackhawk Middle School Mrs. Froning on how the students reacted. “The students were very upset”. “Eventually they will warm up to the idea of having uniforms”. Studies show that schools with uniforms  have a higher success rate on tests like ISTEP. This is why FWCS is getting uniforms. A lot of parents said they are not paying for the schools uniforms as they are overpriced. We interviewed a mother of a 7th grader at Blackhawk Middle School, she was very upset with this idea. “This idea is just absolutely ridiculous”. She says. A lot of other parents also said they thought the idea was terrible.

 

Lots of teacher at Blackhawk thought there was going to be a student riot. They said it was out of control. The students said they were going on a boycott and were not going to wear uniforms. This is very unlikely to happen though.

 

The students at Blackhawk will hopefully warm up to the idea, and maybe even want uniforms.
